Minotaurs are a fiery and proud people, unwilling to submit. They are fierce, brave fighters who love winning, prevailing, and relishing their successes. For this reason, the old King, Glaucus Solehorn, had refused any offer, pact or blackmail he had got from the emissaries of the Black Kings. From the Calencut archipelago, the minotaurs, superb seafaring warriors, sailed the seas on warships, raiding merchant vessels and ports, pillaging the coastal villages and capturing people of all races to make them slaves.
But one of the Chaos Lords wanted the minotaur to serve his cause; hence, he took on the form of a giant red-furred minotaur and, fully armed, stepped into the Arena to fight as a gladiator. Combats in the Arena were so beloved by minotaurs that they influenced politics; many champions of the Arena had become generals, senators, and even kings. Triumphing was an easy feat for the Chaos Lord, and, in a short time, he gained the nickname of “Executioner” and the crowd’s favour, so much so that the old Glaucus named him Royal Champion. A few days later, under strange circumstances, King Glaucus died, and by the realm’s rules, the throne was passed on to the Royal Champion (925).
The Executioner King understood he had to win in war to dissipate the discontent lingering after the recent events and earn the full approval of senators and generals. He personally led the attack on the coast of Poras, which was conquered, although not ransacked like usual. Roused by victory and overcome the reluctance to advance towards the interior, the King brought the army into Taras Minas, which he overthrew in a carnage so terrible that the city’s stones were forever stained by the blood spilt. These victories legitimised the Executioner King as the true monarch in the eyes of the minotaurs, the one who would lead their people to supremacy over any enemy. In 926, Taras Mina became the new capital of the minotaurs’ kingdom on the mainland.
The Slayer-King was thus the third Black King of Erthuan.
